My top supplements and why:

People take supplements for a multitude of different reasons: anxiety, stress, focus, happiness, sleep, and the list goes on and on. Any problem in life, there’s a supplement marketed to fix it. But as in most cases with these things, it’s hard to sort through all of the fluff to what actually works. There’s no end-all-be-all, but here’s a list I’ve found works for me and hopefully will for you too.

A quick background:

I’m 23, and have been taking different supplements for about 5 years. For me, I wanted to get rid of my stress, anxiety, and brain fog. Through my research, it seems that so many people are trying to do the same. We know by now many of the factors that cause it, but they are so baked into our society it’s often so much easier to just swallow a few tablets than to change our day to day lives (sad I know). But the truth is some supplements are actually really healthy, and can be the kickstart that we need to make more influential changes to our lifestyle as well.

My Top Supplement Recommendations:

I believe the first approach to supplementation is to remove any negativity our bodies are experiencing before focusing on the positive. It’s simple, effective, and leads to positive change. What I mean by this is that before taking nootropics or brain boosting supplements like say aniracetam and bacopa, first we should focus on removing stressors, inflammation, and auto immune responses.

Turmeric:

Turmeric has so many amazing benefits, chief among which are its anti-inflammatory effects. Inflammation is one of the most crippling ailments everyone has going on in their bodies. From the foods we eat today, to the poor sleep we get, inflammation is a raging machine causing stress, anxiety, brain fog, and depression in the brain, and numerous other effects throughout the whole body. The simplest way to fight this is turmeric/curcumin supplementation. After a few days of taking this stuff, I found a weight lift in my head and stress dissipate. This is a perfect first and foundational supplement as its cheap, readily available, and well researched.

Grass-fed Beef Organs:

Grass-fed beef organ supplements are nature’s best multi-vitamin. I’ve been taking multi-vitamins for years, but not until trying these did my brain and body really start to wake up. When we take these, we are getting Vitamin A, , B12, Iron, Choline, and so many enzymes and antioxidants in their most bioavailable forms. Trust me, this stuff truly works! I was vegan for 6 years, growing more and more tired and fatigued through the years. In the last 6 months though, I have been taking these along side a healthier, paleo like diet and have never felt more awake, clear-headed, and ready to take on the day.

L-theanine:

If you drink caffeine, just take l-theanine with it. It just makes it better. Clearer mind, longer lasting effects, and calmer body. The optimal ratio is 2:1 l-theanine to caffeine.

CBD:

I have spent a lot of time and money trying to relinquish my anxiety, and nothing beats CBD for me. The cannabinoid system is a huge and complex system throughout our brains and bodies, and it is CBD supplementation the lets us tap into the positive effects of it with ease. CBD is everywhere now, but make sure to buy a good quality brand. I like CBDistilllery. CBD helps with relaxation, stress, focus, positivity, and is amazing for sleep.

Thank you for reading my recommendations! Please comment what you thought of my post and what your favorite supplements are. This is an ever growing and changing passion of mine. New research comes out every minute. But this is what has been working best for me right now. I hope this helps, and hope you have an amazing day!
